Our Next Project: Adopt a Soldier
"Union for Reform Judaism resolves to commend our service women and men (and their families) who have answered duty's call and served our nation honorably, often with valor and distinction, and who have earned our respect and gratitude and that of the American people..." - 2005 Resolution on the War in Iraq
Our next project is as easy as writing letters or as involved as sending care packages. Your level of participation is entirely up to you. After you Adopt a Soldier please let us know. We would like to post information in the Religious School wing about your soldier. Visit the Adopt a Soldier website at http://www.adoptaussoldier.org. Once you complete the registration form a confirmation will be sent to you by e-mail. Within a few days your soldier information will be e-mailed to you. They can do special requests for male/female, and sometimes fulfill requests for a certain branch of the military. It is VERY difficult to fill requests beyond that. They do not fulfill requests for race, religious beliefs, age, marriage status, or common interests because they have very limited information on the soldiers. We look forward to hearing about your adoption.
