Building/Sanctuary Fund

Purpose is forcapital improvements and major maintenance expenses. This shall include but not be limited to the renovation of the interior as well as the exterior of CJCN buildings. Disbursements are approved by the House Committee and the Board of Trustees.

Endowment/General Use Fund

Purpose is forthe general use by CJCN. Disbursements are approved by the Board of Trustees.Note: Because this is the only Endowment fund, only interest earned can bedisbursed.

Library Fund

Purpose is forbooks and other educational materials for use in the CJCN library.Disbursements are approved by The Education Committee with the input of theEducational Director of the Jacques C. Shure Religious School.

Meltzer Scholarship Fund

This fund has twopurposes:

1. To be able to grant funds to confirmation age students going to Israel in connection with our Youth Movement or a Jewish Federation sponsored trip.
2. This fund has also been used to grant awards to college students seeking a career path in Judaism (Rabbi, Cantor, Educator).  Disbursement are up to $500 as determined by the Rabbi.

Each beneficiarymust write a thank you note to the Meltzer family.  The recipients of theaward are encouraged to donate to this fund so other young adults may also participate.

Prayer Book Fund

Purpose is forthe replacement and repair of prayer books. Disbursement are approved by theRitual committee. At the discretion of the Ritual Committee, a portion of theFund balance may be transferred to the Endowment Fund.

Rabbi’s Discretionary Fund

Purpose is toenable the Rabbi to conduct charitable good works without seeking specialfunding or approval of CJCN management. Disbursements are approved solely bythe Rabbi.

Religious School Fund

Purpose is forthe discretionary spending by the religious school. Disbursements are approvedby the Educational Director of the Jacques C. Shure Religious School and theVice President for Education.

General Operating Fund  

Purpose is forthe discretionary spending of the day to day operating expenses of the temple.The Treasurer makes disbursements in the ordinary course of business.

OperationLegacy Campaign Cash Reserve Fund

Purposeis to build CJCN’s cash reserves to insure the future financial stability ofour temple.   Disbursements can be madeonly for unbudgeted emergencies with a 2/3 approval by the Board of Trustees.   Suchvote can only be taken following 2 weeks advance notice to the original SeniorDonors

Emergency Fund

Purpose isfor discretionary spending during emergencies, if necessary. There are norestrictions on this fund.

Donations to all synagogue funds can be made by check to our Temple office.
