Building/Sanctuary Fund

Purpose is for capital improvementsand major maintenance expenses.This shall include but not belimited to the renovation of the interioras well as the exterior of CJCN buildings. Disbursements are approved by the House Committee and the Board of Trustees.

Endowment/General Use Fund

Purpose is for the general use by CJCN. Disbursements are approved by the Board of Trustees. Note: Because this is the only Endowment fund, only interest earned can be disbursed.

Library Fund

Purpose is for books and other educational materials for use in the CJCN library. Disbursements are approved by The Education Committee with the input of the Educational Director of the Jacques C. Shure Religious School.

Meltzer Scholarship Fund

This fund has two purposes:

  1. To be able to grant funds to confirmation age students going to Israel in connection with our Youth Movement or a Jewish Federation sponsored trip.
  2. This fund has also been used to grant awards to college students seeking a career path in Judaism (Rabbi, Cantor, Educator).  Disbursement are up to $500 as determined by the Rabbi.

Each beneficiary must write a thank you note to the Meltzer family.  The recipients of the award are encouraged to donate to this fund so other young adults may also participate.

Prayer Book Fund

Purpose is for the replacement and repair of prayer books. Disbursement are approved by the Ritual committee. At the discretion of the Ritual Committee, a portion of the Fund balance may be transferred to the Endowment Fund.

Rabbi’s Discretionary Fund

Purpose is to enable the Rabbi to conduct charitable good works without seeking special funding or approval of CJCN management. Disbursements are approved solely by the Rabbi.

Religious School Fund

Purpose is for the discretionary spending by the religious school. Disbursements are approved by the Educational Director of the Jacques C. Shure Religious School and the Vice President for Education.

General Operating Fund

Purpose is for the discretionary spending of the day to day operating expenses of the temple. The Treasurer makes disbursements in the ordinary course of business.

can be made by check to our Temple office.

accompanying letter) the fund of your choice
