The Jacques C. Shure Religious School |
Over the past 30 years, Congregation Jewish Community North has provided a caring and nurturing environment for our children's Jewish learning. From being in rented spaces to our current building, the commitment to Jewish learning has prospered. The Jacques C. Shure Religious School, named after Jacques C. Shure, a congregant extremely supportive of giving our children a Jewish education, is the place where all this happens. Our principal, faculty, Education Committee and parents contribute their time, support, and efforts in creating innovative and meaningful learning experiences for our children in both Hebrew and Judaic studies. Your child's formal Jewish education begins in pre-school and goes through to Confirmation. Our post Confirmation students have the opportunity to become teacher assistants in their 11th and 12th grade years.
Classes meet on Sundays during the regular school year from 9:30 am - 12:15 pm. Hebrew classes are on Wednesdays from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm for our 4th thought 7th grade students. For more information please contact the synagogue office at 281-376-0016 or via email at
